NSW Public Works has been engaged by Murray River Council (the proponent) to prepare an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) and undertake Aboriginal community consultation as per the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 (DECCW 2010) for the Little Forest Levee Remediation (the project).

The project area is in Lot 929 DP1207721 and Lot 134 DP756508 and the project will include remediation of an emergency flood levee approximately 1.5 kilometres in length. The study area is in the Murray River Local Government Area.

We are inviting Aboriginal groups or individuals who are interested in being consulted under the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 to register as Registered Aboriginal Parties for the project.

This consultation will assist the proponent in the preparation of an ACHAR and if required an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) application and to assist Heritage NSW in the consideration and determination of an AHIP.

If you hold cultural knowledge relevant to the project area and determining the cultural significance of Aboriginal objects or places in the project area, please register your interest.
