NGH Pty Ltd (NGH) have been engaged by Forbes Solar Farm Pty Ltd ACN 649 598 676 as trustee for the Forbes Genesis Project Trust (the proponent) to undertake an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHA) for the development of an approximately 270-hectare Solar Farm site at 207 Hoopers Road north of Forbes, NSW. The Project Area is located across Lot 29, 94, and 95 of Development Plan (DP) 750173 as well as small portions of Council easement. The construction of the Solar Farm, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated infrastructure as proposed will involve significant ground disturbing works and could include areas for stockpile and machinery parking.

The purpose of the consultation is to provide an opportunity for Aboriginal community stakeholders to assist the proponent in the preparation of the ACHA. The project will be assessed by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) as a State Significant Development (SSD) under Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW).

In order to fulfil the requirements, set out in the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010, NGH is seeking interested Aboriginal parties who hold cultural knowledge of the Project Area and the surrounding region to register their interest in the consultation process for the project and to assist in the determination of cultural significance of any Aboriginal objects subject to the application.
