Agsafe was formed in 1993 as an industry-led non-profit organisation to ensure the safe supply, use and disposal of agricultural and veterinary (AgVet) chemicals and containers through the supply chain.

Agsafe members who have premises join to meet the industry standard for the safe transport, storage, and handling of AgVet chemicals. Agsafe provides training for participants to increase their knowledge and understanding of how to safely and legally transport, handle, and store chemicals. An individual can become a member of Agsafe to benefit from the expert advice on industry developments and regulatory requirements.

drumDRIVE was created to manage the drumMUSTER and ChemClear stewardship programs for the collection of empty farming chemical containers and registering unwanted or obsolete farm chemicals online. Since its inception in 1999 drumMUSTER has collected more than 43 million drums and ChemClear has collected over 1m litres of chemicals.

The current Agsafe partnership database and website is managed on Associations Online (AO). The processes managed on AO included partnership management, events, training, and all areas of the website including event listings, online shop and information on programs run by Agsafe.

drumMUSTER was previously run on the Industry Waste Reduction Scheme (IWRS) platform which was implemented in 2012. The IWRS provided limited functionality and was not accessible due to version issues. In 2022, drumDRIVE was developed by The Glue. drumDRIVE replaced the IWRS platform. Many of the requirements outlined for drumDRIVE were not implemented, which has resulted in many manual processes and work arounds.

ChemClear is currently managed by Cleanaway, on an outdated platform.

Agsafe require a proposal outlining:

- Suggested solution to consolidate all platforms into one

- Timeline, including a phased approach

- Management of data and infrastructure

- Full costings
