Warrnambool City Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and equipped companies to carry out the design and construction of sports stadium court surface and flooring renewal of the Val Bertrand Stadium at the Arc Stadium, 71-77 Caramut Rd, Warrnambool Victoria 3280.
The overall project aim is to renew the sports surface to align with existing basketball courts and surrounding floor area to enable ongoing access for competitive indoor sports, training, sports tournaments and events by the Stadium’s six resident sports associations, schools and other community users.
The Arc Stadium is located on Council owned and managed land. The stadium is a functional facility with day to day movements typical of a sports stadium. The facility has a dedicated Service Manager that facilitates day to day operations and will be consulted during the design phase. The works are funded under Council’s 4 year Capital Works Program in 2024/2025.
The 35 year old area includes 2 netball court surfaces and surrounding floor within the Val Bertrand Stadium adjoining Warrnambool Stadium. The current court surface has degraded over time and is reaching the end of its asset life.
The existing court surface is a unique parquetry tile with a ply and small rubber pad base within a 35mm well within the concrete slab. It has been assessed that this type of court is no longer produced and an alternate court/floor will need to be designed and delivered as part of this project.
