Tender Description
ARTC require the installation of a new steel trough deck bridge for Moonee Ponds Ck viaduct, 24.064kp in the Tullamarine to Jacana Line section. The current bridge has a standard gauge track and a dual gauge track running on top of a timber deck. The timber deck is failing and needs to be replaced. The new steel deck is to be connected to the existing cross beams, which sit on girders.
The provided design to be installed is a steel trough deck bridge, designed to AS5100 standards for 300LA loading, 300mm of ballast, full depth concrete sleepers with 60kg rail. The deck shall include 600mm ballast kerbs. The width of the panel is to be 7.5m perpendicular to the track, with the allowance of ballast retaining on the ends. The panels are fabricated into lengths that allow for ease of construction, typically 2 to 3m lengths
