ABOUT THE COUNCIL: Gilgandra is located in the central west of New South Wales approximately half way between Melbourne and Brisbane and approximately 45 minutes north of the regional centre of Dubbo. Gilgandra has a population of 2700 people with 4700 living in the district.

The Gilgandra Cultural Precinct (GCP) is set along the banks of the Castlereagh River, with natural landscapes, infrastructure and ambience supporting Gilgandra culture and history in a prime location on the Newell Highway.

The Coo-ee Heritage Centre (CHC) is situated on the banks of the Castlereagh River and home to the Gilgandra Region Visitor Information Centre. The CHC takes its name from the famous Coo-ee March of 1915 and is an integral part of the GCP.

The Centre comprises five galleries, a Visitor Information Centre, and Caffeinity Coffee & Wine Co. Open for 364 days of the year, the Centre also provides ample coach and caravan parking along with public toilets;

Sitting on the deck overlooking the natural landscape of the river, the cafe/kiosk area has access to ample space for visitors and locals alike, with outdoor seating on the deck and plenty of space for a picnic on the grass;

Gilgandra Museum, an extensive and exciting range of agricultural plant and machinery, is housed in the Museum as well as historical buildings of significance to the Region.

Caravan parking and an overnight parking trial;

Windmill Walk, a 4km round trip to the CBD hugging the banks of the Castlereagh River. The landscape is dotted with windmills and Cooee soldier silhouettes; and

Gilgandra's Sound Shell, community garden and outdoor event space.

ABOUT THE QUOTATION: Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking quotations from suitably experienced suppliers/contractors, who can demonstrate a high standard of capability, for the design, supply and installation of a new shade structure and associated site works to the deck at the front of the kiosk located at Coo-ee Heritage Centre.

STATEMENT OF BUSINESS ETHICS: Gilgandra Shire Council will undertake this quotation in accordance with its Statement of Business Ethics.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME: Quotations close at 5pm on Friday, 26 July 2024 and submissions must be FULLY RECEIVED BY THIS TIME. The Council is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Quotation and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Quotation process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Council staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal, faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
