The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Unit provide strategic advice and expertise in occupational health and safety (OHS), employee wellbeing, early intervention and workers’ compensation. The team leads and drives contemporary health, safety, wellbeing and workers’ compensation strategy, policy and quality practice, including the development of systems, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and analytical processes. The unit functions as a change agent for improved health, safety and wellbeing outcomes for departmental employees.

Responsibility for coordination and delivery of a variety of employee wellbeing supports sit with the Employee Wellbeing and Support Team. The team has oversight and responsibility for delivering best practice, evidence-based wellbeing supports, programs and initiatives that meet the needs of the workforce, including contract management of the department’s Employee Wellbeing and Support Program. The team has further responsibility for providing strategic advice to the department on wellbeing initiatives and subject matter expertise for wellbeing training programs.
