Background

The City of South Perth is seeking a suitably skilled and experienced Contractor for the construction of footpaths consisting of cast in-situ concrete footpaths on road verges, in Pedestrian Access Ways and other areas within the City in accordance with this Specification and as may be shown on plans or as directed by the Principal from time to time.

The works will include but are not limited to the following

1 Removal and disposal of all materials affected by the assigned work such as existing crossings,

2 Excavation and preparation of the sub base,

3 Placement, spreading and leveling of the base sand layer,

4 Setting of levels and alignment of any new path or other works,

5 Liaison with affected property owners or residents before and after works have commenced,

6 Timing of works and issues relating to reticulation,

7 Removal, repairing or replacing of reticulation affected by the assigned works,

8 Placement and finishing of the concrete,

9 Backfilling as necessary adjacent to the works,

10 Preparation of traffic management plans and the implementation of worksite safety measures, and any verge works as directed by the City.

The Contract duration shall be for a period of three years with two options to extend the contract for a further 12 months exercisable at the sole discretion of the City.

It is the intention of the City to award the resultant contract to a sole Respondent. However, the City reserves the right to award to more than one Respondent, if the offers assessed suggest that there may be service capacity, capability and timing concerns with the delivery of the requirements by a single Respondent.
