Tender Description

In accordance with the Local Government Act, the Ashburton District Council is seeking proposals for our upcoming Chief Executive recruitment process.

Our intention is for Council to appoint a recruitment firm in the last quarter of 2024 and to undertake the recruitment process in the first quarter of 2025. Our current Chief Executive, Hamish Riach's term is due to finish early September 2025. On this date he would have completed 7 years employment at the Ashburton District Council.

With Council yet to decide the extent of executive search they desire; we are seeking interested parties to provide details for two scenarios:

1. An Executive Search and Recruitment process suited for Local Government

2. An Executive Recruitment process, which complies with the Local Government Act

All written proposals will be shared with the Mayor and Council's Executive Committee. They may request shortlisted firms to present and answer questions regarding their proposal, either in person or online.

The appointed firm will draft and place advertising, prepare candidate briefing documentation and provide a high standard of candidate management and support for elected members during the recruitment and appointment process.
