Tender Description
Tender Brief
1) Council is seeking tenders from a suitably qualified Water Engineer to design a potable water reticulation scheme (approximately 3km PVC pipe) along Schumann Rd and Stening Rd with 36 x 20mm services to new residential lots south of Farr St Cowell.
2) The scheme is to be supplied from an existing 40mm SA Water supply point on the Lincoln Highway that has an approximate (open pipe) peak flow rate of approximately 310 L/m.
3) It is expected that a suitably sized storage tank and pumping station to supply 36 residential 20mm connections will be required to allow for off peak recharge from the SAW main and still provide peak demand flow to the scheme when required. Pumping station will have:
a) a minimum of 2 pumps with VFD drives (3 phase power available),
b) capacity for scalable future expansion should further development take place,
c) SCADA control with remote monitoring of operating conditions, tank levels and pump faults.
4) Capacity should be built into the underground pipeline to accommodate supply to future developments in land bordered by Smith Rd, Schumann Rd, Robe Tce and Franklin Tce that would accommodate the possible ultimate future development of 100 x 20mm residential connections.
5) Council intends to be owner and operator of the scheme however the design should comply with SA Water specifications for domestic supply to allow for a future hand over in ownership should circumstances allow.
6) The successful consultant will provide:
• Liaison with Council on detailed requirements,
• Preliminary Plans for Council approval (hold point)
• Detailed Plans For Construction in (pdf and dwg format)
• As Constructed Drawings (pdf and dwg format)
• Hydraulic calculations
7) The project is dependent on Council receiving external funding, neither the highest, lowest nor any tender shall necessarily be accepted.
