UTS needs to ensure standard best practice resilience is in place across all of its software applications and technology infrastructure. A key tenet of best practice resilience is a solid backup and recovery capability including backup strategy and architecture through to back up operations and support. Regular backups are also highlighted by the Australian Signals Directorate as one of the "Essential Eight" cyber risk mitigation strategies.

UTS is seeking to source a third-party cloud-based solution that:

I. Protects UTS data from ransomware attacks, through separation of backed-up data.

II. Enables ease of data / content recovery through snapshots as it was in specific point in time.

III. Will allow for cost savings by only keeping active / current data in the live platform, where storage is more expensive.

IV. Provides any other capabilities that UTS would benefit from implementing.
