*The Queensland Government acting through the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works is seeking suitably qualified contractors for the Design and Construction of the Wujal Wujal ASC Water Infrastructure Upgrades*

BACKGROUND - Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council (WWASC) engaged GANDEN Engineers and Project Managers (GANDEN) to prepare technical specifications for the upgrade of the Council’s existing Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Wujal Wujal is a community with a population of 276 people (Census 2021) and is located in the Cape York region on the banks of the Bloomfield River, 4 hours north of Cairns by road. WWASC currently operate and maintain the water source, storage and supply network servicing the Wujal Wujal community. A recent condition assessment of the water treatment infrastructure has identified shortcomings across the raw water intake, storage and treatment plant requiring upgrade and remediation works.

The project scope of works include the design, supply, delivery, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, performance testing, operator training and operational support for the Wujal Wujal Water Treatment Plant upgrade.
