Mapping, condition assessment and prioritisation of Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens Threatened Ecological Community (TEC) sites at Kosciusko National Park.

Project goals

To understand how the condition of the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens TEC sites at Kosciusko National Park has changed since 2003, and to review current processes to inform future activities.

Scope

This procurement project will provide mapping, condition assessment and prioritisation of Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens TEC sites at Kosciusko National Park.

The project will re-map original mapping undertaken from aerial imagery in 2003 and compare changes in the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens community’s occurrence. It will collate and analyse available data, review existing processes and propose new initiatives if appropriate, and conduct ground-truthing for the mapping and condition assessment.

There will be an overall assessment of the ecological values of the site with particular emphasis on threatened species, endangered ecological communities and key fauna habitat features.

These deliverables must be completed to the satisfaction of South East Local Land Services (the Principal) on or before, 31 May 2025.
