Tender Details
Tender Description
The purpose of this EOI is to shortlist participants that will be invited to participate in an Early Tenderer Involvement (ETI) process. The shortlisted ETI participants will then be invited to tender for the design and construction package for the work.
Hunter Water's Onsite Renewable Energy Program targets a delivery of ~8.3MW of additional renewable energy installations to increase renewable energy capacity and reduce energy consumption throughout the business.
Suitable sites for the installation of roof and ground mounted solar PV systems are now limited and new opportunities are required to deliver renewable energy installations. A number of Hunter Water assets, namely Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) have available surface water area, with the opportunity to install floating solar installations identified as a potential to deliver up to 3-4MW of renewable energy through large projects.
Due to Hunter Water's limited experience in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of floating solar systems, Clarence Town WWTW has been identified as a low-risk site to install a small pilot system to provide Hunter Water with learnings for the intention of constructing larger systems in the near future.
Depending on the success of the Clarence Town WWTW pilot project in proving the viability and applicability of the technology, Hunter Water intend on developing a number of larger floating solar PV projects on effluent storage ponds at suitable WWTWs over the coming years. A preferred procurement approach for the larger installations will be developed, with one option being to establishment a partnership arrangement with Contractor(s) for the design and construction, subject to the
