Background
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) division, Transwa provides road and rail services that connect regional towns across Western Australia and is a division of the Public Transport Authority (PTA). The services extend to Kalbarri, Geraldton and Meekatharra in the north, Kalgoorlie in the east and Bunbury, Augusta, Pemberton and Albany in the south, and to Esperance in the southeast.
When these services are affected due to planned and unplanned disruptions, road coach replacement services are provided to ensure patrons arrive at their intended destinations. This tender is for a panel of suitable coach hire suppliers to fulfil this need and formalise a pre-existing process to provide the needs of Transwa road and rail replacement coach services for planned and unplanned disruptions.
Scope of Services
This tender is to provision a panel of suitable road coach hire suppliers to provide replacement services for planned and unplanned disruptions to regional road and rail services.
The routes are to include those currently provided by Transwa road and rail routes to Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Merredin, and Northam (or part of) and road coach routes that extend to Kalbarri, Geraldton and Meekatharra in the north, Kalgoorlie (from Esperance) in the east and Bunbury, Augusta, Pemberton and Albany in the south, and to Esperance in the south-east (or part of).
Tenderers should note that the Scope of Services located in Book 4 of the Request for Tender documents are indicative of the Road and Rail Replacement Coach Services that are likely to be required during the term of the Panel Contract. Frequencies of work to be undertaken are indicative only and PTA gives no undertaking that all or any of the quantities shown will be required during the term of the Panel Contract.
If accommodation of the Contractor’s drivers is required, it is a requirement that this be at the Transwa approved accommodation as the parking of the coaches has been allowed for.
