Tender ID: 564826
Tender Details
Tender Description
Bass Coast Shire Council is now accepting Expressions of Interest for a major Public Art Commission at Berninneit, an award-winning architecturally designed cultural centre in Cowes, Phillip Island. Berninneit is a Bunurong word meaning “Gather Together” that celebrates community connectedness through cultural activity.
The Berninneit Public Art Commission aims to celebrate the region's unique cultural heritage and foster community engagement through the creation of an integrated artwork at the new cultural centre, Berninneit.
We envision a dynamic and inclusive process that brings together the local communities in the area to collaboratively shape an artwork that reflects the vibrant character of the region, the Island and the venue. The purpose of this public art project is to promote community ownership and connection by actively involving diverse stakeholders in the development and realisation of the artwork.
By situating the artwork into the architecture of Berninneit, we seek to create a lasting and meaningful presence that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
