The City of Fremantle is a local government authority located 20km south of the Perth CBD comprising the suburbs of Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley.

About this Tender:

The City of Fremantle is seeking a Contractor to supply, install and maintain a Beach Enclosure (shark barrier) at Bathers Beach, Fremantle between the two rockwalls. The Contract will be for an initial five (5) year period with three (3) further one (1) year contract extensions available.

The Bathers Beach Enclosure will be an approximately 335m long barrier between existing rock wall infrastructure to provide an enclosed swimming area. The proposal will bring a unique feature for the community by enclosing a sheltered beach that is ideal for swimming and snorkelling over a heritage jetty and natural pavement reef. It is close to public transport and within walking distance to the Fremantle tourism precinct of restaurants, cafes, shops, cultural facilities and a university. Parking has also been increased in the precinct with the TAFE site now available on weekends for public parking. 

The Contractor will be required to undertake all works necessary for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of a Beach Enclosure at Bathers Beach, Fremantle to meet the Principal's requirements.
