Tender Description

Hornsby Shire is a large local government area in the Sydney region, with 39 suburbs and rural localities, and is characterised by large tracts of bushland. The major town centres are located in the south of the Shire. Within the last decade the Shire has seen strong residential growth, particularly around the Hornsby Town Centre.

The Lakes of Cherrybrook is a converted farm dam. It is a key feature of the park in which it sits. However, it has had historical issues with priority weeds and botulism. Council therefore wishes to upgrade these lakes to improve their amenity and improve their potential as stormwater quality improvement devices.

However, in order to do this, we first need to pre-treat the lakes to prevent gross pollution from affecting any potential upgrades.

Hornsby Shire Council wishes to construct 2 new gross pollutant traps on catchments draining into Lakes of Cherrybrook.

There are 2 contributing catchments. One through 20-22 Kenburn Avenue which is around 16ha and is on private land. Permission to go to a design has been obtained from the strata. Diagrams can be provided of the area from the time of the subdivision in the 80's.

Another catchment goes drains into 59-61 Macquarie Drive and 14x Kenburn avenue and is 27 ha in size. It has an existing GPT that will be decommissioned as a part of the construction of the new one.

Development within this catchment is residential.

Survey will be carried out at the location and will be provided to the successful consultant in PDF and DWG formats.
