About the Role:

The Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) is an important statutory function and a key component of the Light Regional Council’s good governance.

The ARC comprises an independent chairperson (Presiding Member), two (2) independent members and two (2) elected members of Council. The Mayor is an ex officio member. The term of the current chairperson and independent members expire in November 2024, and the Council is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified persons to be appointed to these roles, effective from December 2024.

Although it is currently anticipated that the first ARC meeting for new members would be early in 2025. Further information is available in the draft ARC Terms of Reference which is expected to be approved by Council in September 2024.

A sitting fee, per meeting, will be payable to the successful applicants.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to review the Council’s 2024/25 Annual Business Plan, Long term financial plan and 2022/23 Annual Report. The website also contains agendas and minutes of ARC meetings.

This role is based at Kapunda, approximately an hour’s drive from the Adelaide CBD with great connectors such as the Northern Expressway, Gawler Bypass, and the Thiele Highway, it is an easy and enjoyable drive.
