Darebin City Council is seeking expressions of interest for an external member for its Audit and Risk Committee who will assist Council to build a contemporary governance culture and to fulfil its compliance obligations. The Audit and Risk Committee is an advisory committee to Council that oversees and monitors the effectiveness of Council's risk management practices, fraud prevention systems and controls, financial and performance management, internal control environment, and audit programs. Council is seeking to appoint an external member to the Audit and Risk Committee for a period of three years, commencing 1 January 2025.

The Audit and Risk Committee meets four times per year and comprises five members - three external members and two Councillors.

Applicants are required to demonstrate their experience in the fields of finance, risk, audit, governance and/or legal practice through their application. Local government experience is highly desirable.
