Professional Building Surveying, Certification and Environmental Health Services

Walcha Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to provide professional building surveying, certification, and environmental health services on a contract basis

Scope of Services

• Provision of advice and assistance in delivering Council’s regulatory services functions

• Assessment and issue of Construction Certificates, Occupation Certificates and Compiling Development Certificates on behalf of Council as a Principal Certifying Authority

• Undertaking and coordinating critical stage inspections for regulated building works

• Building certification and compliance assessments

• Environmental health assessments and food premises inspections

• Inspection and assessment of on-site sewage treatment systems

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in the delivery of building surveying, certification, and environmental health services

• Relevant qualifications and certifications (AIBS Level 1 or Level 2 accreditation)

• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and standards

• Excellent communication and report writing skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Minimum commitment of one day per week in person, on site.

• Own transport required.

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience in the local government regulatory environment

• Membership of relevant professional bodies

Interested consultants are invited to submit expressions of interest, including a detailed company profile, evidence of qualifications and details of relevant experience. Submissions are to include a schedule of hourly rates and travel costs (as relevant).

Depending on interest received, Council will appoint a primary consultant on a contract basis and may appoint a panel of consultants as required to provide ad-hoc, on call consultancy services.
