Who we are
The Victorian WorkCover Authority trading as WorkSafe Victoria (WorkSafe) is a Victorian statutory authority that administers and enforces functions under a number of Acts and Regulations, including the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (WIRC Act), the Accident Compensation Act 1985 (Vic) (AC Act), the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act) and the Dangerous Goods Act 1985.
WorkSafe's mission is to reduce workplace harm and improve outcomes for injured workers. WorkSafe’s ambition is to be a world leader in harm prevention and recovery after a workplace injury. To do this we are choosing to focus our efforts and resources where we can make a meaningful difference to health, safety and well-bring of Victorian workers.
Overview of services
To reduce harm in the workplace and improve outcomes for injured workers, WorkSafe recognises the value in working in collaboration with a range of stakeholders and partners to improve our claims management outcomes, and the overall quality of service and support we provide to injured workers.
WorkSafe seeks to partner with one or more Contractors in the assessment and management of ongoing access to payment of the reasonable costs of medical and similar services received because of their injury under section 224 of the WIRC Act or section 99 of the AC Act (Medical and Like Services).
