Tender Description
MidCoast Council is seeking Submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced Designers and Contractors for the design, supply, and installation of Composite Fibre Technology (CFT) decking replacement and new walkway structure at two locations within the MidCoast Council local government area.
Such Composite Fibre Technology (CFT) may include Fibre Reinforced Polymer/Plastic (FRP), Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) or similar composite material that meets current Australian Standards and National Building Code requirements for boardwalks, decking and handrails (balustrades).
The locations for the works are Harry Bennet Park, Taree and King George V Memorial Park, Gloucester
Background information / Compatibility requirements
Council maintains a large number of parks and reserves that represent a vast investment in Council’s recreation portfolio that supports passive recreation for those living and visiting the Mid Coast of NSW. The infrastructure of within a number of these parks and reserves was damaged during the natural disaster events occurring in 2021 and 2022 and the Council has received funding to undertake resilient restoration for a number of these. As part of this program, Council has identified the need for replacement of the following:
• Elevated walkway, stairs and balustrading (handrails) at King George V Memorial Park, Gloucester (Cnr Ravenshaw St & Cook st)
• Decking and balustrading (handrails) at Harry Bennet Park, Taree (River St)
