The Council of the City of Sydney (the City) invites Requests for Tender for the purposes of completing and supporting the What's On Transition to Sitecore in accordance with this request.

Background

What's On (whatson.sydney) is an events directory managed by the City of Sydney. It sees:

• over 3.5 million visits each year;
• 27,000 event submissions each year;
• a weekly email subscriber list of 34,000; and
• more than 10,000 user accounts, including local businesses, cultural venues, community groups and City of Sydney teams who produce events.

In 2018, the City of Sydney hired an external agency to redevelop What's On. The agency redesigned and built the website using the Contentful content management platform. Following its implementation in 2020, the City of Sydney adopted an enterprise content management system, Sitecore, to design and develop its corporate website.

As the City approaches the end of the contract term with the current vendor, there's an opportunity to reassess the current platform. The decision has been made to migrate What's On to Sitecore, aligning it with our broader digital management strategy.

We are looking for a partner to design and build the new What's On to align with our technical architecture.
