Walcha Council is seeking to engage an experienced and qualified consultant to prepare a Land Use Strategy and Cumulative Impact Assessment for the Walcha local government area (LGA). Walcha is situated within the New England Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) with significant capital infrastructure investments in renewable energy infrastructure anticipated across the region in coming years. Walcha Council is keen to maximise the opportunities this investment will provide across the LGA through the preparation of a Land Use Strategy to better inform strategic planning outcomes.

In addition, Council is also aware of the threats to the community this investment may have and is also requesting a Cumulative Impact Assessment to inform land use planning decisions.
