The City of Gold Coast (The City) is undertaking several seawall construction and maintenance projects from early 2025 to 2028 and has a requirement to source an estimated 50,000 – 52,000 Tonnes (T) of suitable marine Armour Stone (3T stone and above) to undertake these works. Current and previous material specifications have been prepared and attached for reference. Projects after 2025 do not have material specifications prepared, however it can be assumed they will follow similar guidelines.

The City requires Armour Stone supply in two key Classifications:

• Class 1 - 7,000kg (min 4,650 - max 9,000)

• Class 2 - 3,000kg (min 1,500 - max 4,650)

The estimated quantities of Armour Stone for each of the known projects is as follows:

• Early 2025 – 06484 – Currumbin South Training Wall – 200m – 4,000T of Armour Stone (Class 1)

• 2026 – 05471 – Currumbin North Training Wall – 150m –6,000T of Armour Stone (Class 2)

• 2027– 09090 – Burleigh SLSC Seawall – 300m – 12,000T of primary Armour Stone (Class 2)

• 2027/28 – 09091 – Pacific Parade Seawall – 650m – 25,000T of primary Armour Stone (Class 2)

The City is seeking to proactively understand the current market and the capability of suppliers to supply and stockpile the estimated quantities for these projects over four years noting that the stockpiling of Armour Stone at the supplier’s quarry is preferred until delivery to site is required.
