Tender Description

Cloud Technical Assurance Services

WorkCover Queensland (WorkCover) is a government owned statutory body, providing workers' compensation insurance in Queensland since 1997. A self-funded statutory authority, WorkCover strives to maintain the lowest possible average premium rate by continuously investing in efficient online customer services, experienced in-house claims management capability and sustainable premium and return to work outcomes for employers and injured workers. WorkCover has a current headcount of approximately 1300 people.

Cloud Technical Assurance Services

WorkCover has begun a multi-year IT transformation to transition the organisation from its current technology landscape to target state. The Cloud Enablement program will develop and deliver the future technology operations and enablement capability by leveraging cloud computing to replace on-premises data centre infrastructure for hosting WorkCover’s commercial off the shelf and in-house applications.

WorkCover requires a supplier to undertake a cloud technical assurance activity with a high level of professionalism and vendor independence. It is expected a supplier will be selected at the earliest opportunity for a focused, time-boxed assurance activity. This is a time critical engagement on the critical path for our cloud migration. Key migration milestones are targeted for April/May 2025 and it is expected that this engagement be completed as early as possible to allow for any remediation activities identified. Therefore we are anticipating completion of the technical assurance activity by end of December 2024 or early January 2025.

This engagement’s objective is to deliver an independent evaluation of the technical readiness for the production go-live of WorkCover’s cloud platform and migrated workloads. The result of this assessment will inform program stakeholders regarding the decision to proceed or not with our production go-live.

Any risks or issues uncovered during this evaluation will require prioritisation, with actionable steps for mitigation or resolution. The prioritisation must indicate the severity of each risk, specifying whether action is needed before go-live, after go-live, or for future attention.
