The Shire of Carnarvon is excited to invite local community members and organisations to showcase their talent over a series of workshops. The aim of these workshops is to reduce plastic and textile waste within the community, providing our community members with new skills and ideas to upcycle household items which would otherwise end up in landfill.
Expression of Interest:
We are seeking expression of interest from individual community members, community groups or organisations interested in hosting a community workshop/s. This is a fantastic opportunity showcase local talent.
Event Details:
The series of workshops will take place over the period of Friday 11 October to Sunday 30 November. Workshops will be held at the Community Art Hub or the Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery with support from our Community Project Officer to deliver these workshops to the community.
Submission Guidelines:
Community members are invited to submit their expression of interest by 9am Monday 30 September.
Submissions should include:
• Proposed workshop title
• Preferred dates between 11 October and 30 November
• Estimated time frame for the workshop
• A brief description of what textiles you will be focusing on to upcycle
• List of materials needed
• Contact details for enquiries or clarification
• Cost to run the workshop
Payment:
The Shire of Carnarvon has received grant funding from the Waste Authority - Waste Sorted Program to pay the organisation or community member $100 per hour to run the workshop, plus material costs.
