Farmers across Moyne Shire Council are encouraged to lodge an expression of interest (EOI) for roadside grazing by Close of Business 16 September 2024.

Council has paused issuing Roadside Grazing permits while a review of the Roadside Conservation Plan is underway. This review will streamline procedures and assessments to better avoid and mitigate impacts on native flora and fauna species.

In the meantime, Council acknowledges it is continuing to be tough season for its farming community and is also mindful of conditions leading up to the 2024/25 fire season.

Each EOI will be assessed to determine what assistance Council may be able provide to confirm any native vegetation impacts and then whether the location would be suitable for grazing to proceed to an application based on fire prevention and no detrimental native vegetation impacts.
