We are looking for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from farmers interested in improving the health of their soil.

About Slow the Flow Project

Slow the Flow is a project designed to:

Give farmers the skills and knowledge to track and understand their soil health

Participants will get training on how to:

• Self-assess and understand their farms soil health.
• Use a soil monitoring app, to record and understand their data and observations over a 2-year period.

Support farmers to put in place on-farm soil improvement activities

Participants will develop a soil health activation plan. Each farm will receive up to $2000 towards soil improvement activities.

Provide opportunities for farmers to share and learn from each other

Attend a series of webinars and on-farm workshops.

Receive ongoing support, education, and shared learning with other farmers.

To be eligible you must:

• Be a primary producer in the Byron Shire local government area.
• Currently run agricultural or horticultural activities on your farm.
• Be willing to engage and partake in project activities for the life of the project (2 years from October 2024 – October 2026).
