Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified consultant/consultancy to develop a Balranald Shire Council Housing Strategy (BSCHS) that focuses on Balranald and Euston Townships. The BSCHS will address the housing shortage in the BSCHS now pressured by the large influx of workers operating in rare earth mining endeavours, renewable energy interests and agricultural pursuits.

The BSCHS should set a clear plan for housing over the next 10 and 20 years and include the amount and type of housing required to be delivered by the market to address a future 10-year need, and align with the State's 20 year regional strategic plan.

The BSCHS should underpin the goals of the National Planning Reform Blueprint by creating a Housing Strategy to reflect housing supply targets.
