Tender Description
New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) are seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced main contractor to undertake the infrastructure upgrade works associated with the replacement of the Devonport Naval Base (DNB) dry dock crane.
The project scope for this RFT includes the following ancillary works that are not being carried out by the crane vendor):
Electrical – Supply Infrastructure and transformer
Mechanical – Rail (upon which the crane runs) Replacement; and
Structural – Switch-room Installation.
The infrastructure upgrades need to be completed prior to NZDF taking possession of a new travelling portal crane in November 2025. They are required to support this replacement crane and meet the project objectives.
