Rockhampton Regional Council requires the services of a Contractor to undertake the drainage upgrade and extension works at the South Rockhampton Cemetery.

There have been ongoing concerns regarding flooding impacts during stormwater events and the limited available space for burials within the Rockhampton Region. Therefore the existing drain is planned to be recontoured to reduce the impacts of stormwater flooding and to upgrade the South Rockhampton Cemetery.

The Contractor must follow Heritage Stop work protocols to be held before and during any works should any unmarked grave or significant heritage artifact be found during intrusive works.

The construction is planned to commence in November 2024, with completion in January/February 2025.
