Hay Shire Council invites suitably qualified and experienced persons to submit a Tender for the supply of construction of sheds for the John Houston Memorial Swimming Pool replacement plant room and Hay Hydrotherapy Pool upon the conditions set out in this RFT.

Hay Shire Council is undertaking the replacement of the swimming pools at the John Houston Memorial Swimming Pool complex, as well as construction a new hydrotherapy pool facility on the same site.

The scope of works includes, but is not limited to, the following

• Supply and construct two steel sheds for the swimming pool replacement plant room and new hydrotherapy pool, including guttering and downpipes.

• Swimming pool replacement plant room shed – approx. 20m x 8m shed - 3.5m high (at the eave from floor level) for the filtration system and associated equipment for the swimming pools and the hydrotherapy pool. Shed to have allowance for internal colourbond walls (two walls, single skin) to create a chlorine storage room and a storage room at eastern end (approx. 5m x 8m).

• Hydrotherapy pool shed – approx. 32m x 12m shed – 4.5m high (at the eave from floor level) for the hydrotherapy pool and amenities. Internal building works by others.

• All structural steel elements to be epoxy coated or galvanized for corrosion prevention.

• Swimming pool shed to have two 3m wide roller doors (one located on long side and one on the end for chlorine delivery access), plus two PA doors.

• Hydrotherapy Pool shed to have double glass doors located on one end, plus allowance for one 2.5m wide roller door and one 1.8m wide roller door (both on a long side of shed).

• Swimming pool shed to have no windows.

• Hydroterapy pool shed to windows along both the northern and southern wall of the shed – windows to be approx. 1.2 x 1.2 sliding type with fly screens, located approx. mid height – allowance for 30 windows in total. Exact location and layout TBA.

• Sheds to both have four whirly birds installed on the roof.

• Concrete slabs by others, however, works to include for construction of associated footings as required by Engineer. Stormwater connections by others.

• Sheds to be colourbond construction – colour TBA.

• Swimming pool shed to include sarking insulation on roof.

• Hydrotherapy pool to include R5 insulation on roof and walls. Roof and walls to be double skinned (internal and external) with colourbond.

• Allowance must be made to coordinate with other trades such as swimming pool contractor, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, concretor, builder.

• Allowance to be made for inspections to be undertaken by Council.

• Allowance to provide own tools and equipment required, not limited to excavation, scissor lifts, generators, small tools, etc.

• Construction waste to be separated and placed in bins on site.

A non-mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held on site Hay Swimming Pool, 241-249 Lachlan Street, Hay NSW 2711) at 10am on Thursday 10/10/2024. Hay is located halfway between Sydney and Adelaide and just 4 1/2 hours from Melbourne.

The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.
