Queensland’s Reconstruction Authority (QRA) Resilience Funding Program helps communities mitigate and manage the risks associated with cyclone and flood damage with Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council (KASC) receiving funding to procure a suitably experienced Contractor to supply materials, labour, plant, and equipment to perform road pavement and stormwater drain upgrades within its township at the Pindi Street subdivision.

This work involves removing and replacing 274 m of the existing road with new basecourse and concrete pavement, and the installation of approximately 950 m of stormwater swale drains and associated SW infrastructure as outlined in the for tender construction drawings.

The timely completion of this work is expected to be before the next cyclone/ wet season arrives i.e., before the end of November 2024, with a detailed works program outlining its completion on this date. Works must be completed and closed-out by 30th November 2024.
