EOI for the construction of the National Circularity Centre in Bega NSW 2550.

BACKGROUND

The Regional Circularity Cooperative (RCC) was formed as part of Bega Groups strive for a circular economy to support Australian communities. The heart of the RCC will be the National Circularity Centre located in North Bega NSW 2550. This EOI is targeted towards licensed builders in the South East NSW region and surrounds who have the experience and passion to undertake the construction of this landmark project for Australia.

One of the projects key objectives is to meet Living Building Challenge (LBC) accreditation. LBC accreditation is administered by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) and requires buildings to be designed and built with sustainability and healthy living as the key drivers for project decisions. If accreditation is met, the NCC will be the second of only two buildings in Australia to achieve this milestone. To aid in meeting this accreditation the building has been designed in a manor that exudes modernism whilst maximising sustainable construction and reuse, this can be seen most clearly in the rammed earth and the utilisation of reclaimed timber.
