Community Transport contributes to the department’s vision for Thriving Queensland communities, where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can participate, are included and resilient, and enjoy high levels of social and economic wellbeing. Community Transport is a key enabler of economic and community participation. It provides a critical service across Queensland, enabling vulnerable and isolated Queenslanders to connect to and access vital services, particularly where other public or private transport infrastructure is in low supply.

The purpose of this procurement activity is to purchase community transport services in 6 locations:

• Cooktown and Hopevale
• Port Douglas
• Babinda, Innisfail and Johnstone
• Herberton
• Wujal Wujal
• Northern Peninsula Area

 This funding is targeting locations that have been assessed as requiring additional service provision to currently funded areas or areas where there is no current provision.
