Tender Details
Tender Description
The WaterMark Scheme ensures that plumbing products that come into contact with potable water are fit for purpose and appropriately authorised for use in plumbing and drainage installations. This Scheme also introduced a lead-free requirement resulting in a significant change that carries and important health and safety remit.
The CodeMark Scheme supports the use of new or innovative building products in specified circumstances in Australia, by providing a nationally accepted process for demonstrating compliance with the National Construction Code.
The last review of the WaterMark and CodeMark Certification Schemes occurred in 2016 as a result the ABCB is undertaking a large review of the CodeMark and WaterMark product certification Schemes.
The ABCB is reviewing the Schemes in two stages. The Stage 1 review completed a preliminary regulatory design review by considering high level policy objectives of each Scheme and determining whether these objectives remain valid. Also evaluating whether each Scheme is fit for purpose under the current building and plumbing product control regulatory frameworks. The purpose of this review was to provide possible reform options and advised on suitability of the draft Stage 2 terms of reference (ToRs).
This procurement is seeking a supplier to complete the primary Stage 2 review. This review will need to consider the following Terms of Review (ToRs) using the parameters determined in the Stage 1 Report.
