The Whangarei District Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor for cleaning and minor works for the Te Matau a Pohe and Kotuitui Whitinga opening bridges in Whangarei City. The operations are a full 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 day a year service.

The key outcomes for this contract are keeping the Te Matau a Pohe and Kotuitui Whitinga bridges operating and well maintained in a cost-effective manner. Maintenance activities shall be as scheduled in the specification and will include.

- Undertaking preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and repair of accident damage to the bridge structural systems within the times specified.

- Inspections and preventative maintenance works.

- Routine cleaning.

- Oiling of the Te Matau a Pohe timber handrails.

- Prompt removal of graffiti.

- The maintenance shall ensure the continuing efficient operation of the bridge.

- Prompt emergency repair of any minor structural equipment that fails under normal working conditions.

- Prompt repair of structural equipment in case of accident damage or vandalism.

- Recording and scheduling all inspections, maintenance and repair work undertaken.

- Achieving the standards specified in the contract documents for the duration of the contract

- Providing a complete maintenance management service

- The supply of MSDS for any chemicals used or stored on site.

The initial term of this contract is 2 years with a possible 3 year roll-over subject to meeting performance criteria.
