South Gippsland Water (SGW) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the provision of Renewal Works for the Sewer Maintenance Hole (Coating Works).

Across SGW’s sewer reticulated network, a variety of maintenance structures consists of both pre-cast and in-situ built. The age of these assets varies with varying exposure levels to hydrogen sulphide gas and structure integrity. In the past, most rehabilitation were around inflow and infiltration (I&I) requiring repair and coating, however, a smaller proportion of maintenance structures required significant reinstatement to surfaces due to material loss.

The objective of this program is to:

1. Reduce the occurrence of reactive maintenance events and minimize the volume of treatable wastewater inflows by mitigating root ingress and I&I, particularly prevalent in failed pre-cast concrete joints or where in-situ concrete is porous or low in strength.
2. Extend the asset service life via restoring its structural integrity of the maintenance structures, improve asset performance through reinstatement of surface material loss to the corrosive sewer environment from hydrogen sulphide attack, and provide internal surfaces through protective coatings and corrosion resistant materials.

The program of works will be issued to the contractor in work orders over the course of the contract and will have an initial term of 4-years with two 1-year extension at SGW’s discretion.

A non-mandatory briefing session will commence on Wednesday 16th October 2024 via Microsoft teams. Contractors are required to register their intention to attend with Henry Huang (contact information below) with at least 24 hours’ notice.
