Coomalie Community Government Council is seeking quotations from contractors to be engaged in Council’s 2024 Tree Safety Audit and Works. This forms part of Council's safety program and is integral to meeting our responsibilities for the care and management of Councils significant vegetation within the Coomalie Region.

1. Townships of Bachelor and Adelaide River, including laneways, roadsides, parks and near powerlines. For arborist works, it is recommended that contactors have access to equipment to suitably complete assessment of trees with possibility of tree pruning and tree removal. A suitability statement will be required for this submission to address this requirement of the work.

2. Proposed Tree Assessments

A qualified arborist will assess each tree and collect the following information:

• Image of Tree

• ULE

• Genus and Species

• Contribution to the Landscape

• Canopy Size

• Recommended works

• Diameter at Breast Height

• Priority of works

• Health

• Long Term Management Options

• Structure

• Risk Assessment -using TRAQ

• Management options

• Overall outcome

3. Traffic Management

The contractor will be responsible for ensuring industry standard traffic management processes are followed, including signage and Traffic Guidance Systems to be submitted and approved by the Contract Manager.

The scope of the works includes the health and safety assessments and relevant works to be carried out on trees in Council managed and controlled roads, laneways, parks and reserves in the towns of Adelaide River and Batchelor. Council’s Contract Manager for the PRQ2024-013 Tree Safety Audit and Works program is Sharon Hillen, CEO.
