East Waste will enter into an Agreement for these Goods with the successful Tenderer.
East Waste is the trading name of the Eastern Waste Management Authority (the Authority), which was established in 1928. The Authority is a regional subsidiary of the Adelaide Hills Council, City of Burnside, Campbelltown City Council, City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters, City of Mitcham, City of Prospect, City of Unley and the Corporation of the Town of Walkerville, established pursuant to Section 43 of the Local Government Act 1999. These eight Councils are referred to as Member or Constituent Councils of the Authority.
The Authority's primary purpose is to provide effective waste/resource collection services for its Member Councils.
The effective waste/resource collection services provided by East Waste is delivered through the operation of a fleet of 57 collection vehicles. These vehicles are replaced regularly as per East Waste’s Asset Management Plan to ensure the vehicles remain reliable, cost efficient to operate and well presented.
As part of this ongoing replacement program, East Waste is seeking an initial 3-year agreement, with the option of a two-year extension, subject to performance satisfaction, with suppliers of Cab Chassis and suppliers of Compactor bodies, or a supplier that can deliver both the Cab Chassis and the Compactor bodies. It is a requirement of the tenderer to nominate the supply of Goods and Services (i.e. the supply of the Cabs Chassis or Compactors, or both), which they intended to offer in the tender specification.
East Waste is also seeking the option to purchase one additional vehicle in Years 2 and 3 of the agreement. It is not a requirement of the tender to provide a response to supply of the optional vehicle nominated.
East Waste is also seeking tenderers to identify, as an option, an individual bin weighing system for the side arm and rear loaders. This optional component will have the ability to provide East Waste with electronic real time data (weight in kilograms) for each individual bin lift to an agreed level of accuracy. It is not necessary for the technology to be National Measurement Institute (NMI) approved.
East Waste will also consider the option of contract maintenance from the supplier of the compactor bodies.
