Tender Description

The Council of the City of Sydney ("City") invites Requests for Tender for the carrying out of Head Design Consultancy Services for Redfern Neighbourhood Parks; Redfern Community Centre Open Space, Yellomundee Park and Hugo Street Reserve (Redfern Neighbourhood Parks) in accordance with this request.

The City is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Head Design Consultant team with proven experience delivering high quality culturally informed public spaces and ability to work with local communities.

The project will ensure the City's commitment to recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture in the public spaces of our City and to enhancing the economic prosperity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the local businesses.

The project aims to maximise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation and employment through the project. Where possible, the consultant team will include First Nations design leadership on the consultancy team, ensuring the City's commitment to recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture in our public spaces and enhancing the economic prosperity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses. The project will seek opportunities for implementation in a project specific Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participation Plan, to be developed with the successful tenderer.

Tenderers, together with their subconsultants team must demonstrate project experience and excellence in the following:

- Creation of public spaces, that are site specific, accessible and create a cohesive public domain

- Design understanding of future and surrounding neighbourhood character

- Experience working with local communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

- Technical expertise to deliver a project of this size and scope.

- Coordination expertise to manage the sub-consultant team and community input that a project of the type requires.

- Response to community aspirations and involvement and ability to translate community aspirations into design solutions.

The Head Consultant will lead a team of specialist subconsultants to undertake the necessary services for the project:

- Stage 1: Concept design review

- Stage 2: Design Development and Planning Applications

- Stage 3: Tender and Construction Documentation

- Stage 4: Construction Stage Services

Tenderers must submit tenders in the manner required by this request for tender.
