NPWS is seeking Architectural Services to design the 3 new hiker camps as part of the multi-day walk.
Project goals
The Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk proposal has the following objectives:
- create a new multi-day walking experience of international standing that showcases the dramatic Dorrigo Escarpment
- protect, respect and promote the parks' environmental and cultural heritage values
- create nature-based experiences which grow awareness of Australia's ancient landscapes and foster future conservation advocacy and stewardship
- provide opportunities for Aboriginal communities to rightfully share their culture, participate in and benefit from the regional visitor economy
- offer opportunities to connect to nature, which provides ongoing health and well-being for participants
- create safe and durable walking tracks and campsites that are designed for minimal impact and long-term sustainability with climate change impacts in mind.
Scope
NPWS is seeking Architectural Services to design the three new hiker camps as part of the multi-day walk.
The services under the proposed contract include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform the role of Principal Design Consultant responsible for the delivery of all Architectural, Landscape and Engineering Services including the engagement, co-ordination and management required to document the proposed works and achieve Crown Certification
- Provide technical advice, support and respond to queries from the Principal. The Certifier will be a sub-consultant and managed by the PDC. The Planning will be managed by the Principal
- Respond to RFIs during Construction.
