Whangarei District Council is seeking Expression of Interest to shortlist qualified contractors for the construction of the Morningside Flood Mitigation project at Rawhiti Street, Morningside, Whangarei. This comprehensive project includes the construction of a pump station capable of transferring 4 m³/s at low head, floodgates, and new large diameter (1.5m dia) stormwater pipe infrastructure within the Morningside catchment area.

The objective is to significantly reduce the flooding frequency to a 1 in 2-year average recurrence interval (ARI) with provisions for future enhancements to reach a 1 in 5-year ARI. This contract requires excellent project management to meet the clients project deadline in June 2025, timely progress updates, and adherence to specified environmental and safety standards.
