In November 2022, the Department of Communities (Communities) established the Housing Construction and Refurbishment Builders Panel to further accelerate the Western Australian Government's delivery of social housing across the State.
As part of the 2024 annual refresh process for the Builders Panel, Communities is seeking Expressions of Interests (EOIs) from registered builders interested and capable of delivering residential dwellings, to support Communities' delivery of social housing as part of the State Government's $3.2 billion investment in housing and homelessness services in WA over the next four years.
Through this investment, Communities will the deliver up to 5,000 social housing properties and carry out refurbishment and maintenance work to thousands more. The maintenance and refurbishment program will be critical to ensuring these homes remain part of our state's social housing stock for many years to come.
