Westport is the State Government’s long-term program to plan and build a future port in Kwinana with integrated road and rail transport networks and optimised policy and supply chain governance arrangements.

The Westport Program has largely completed Stage 3 (work to deliver a business case) and is restructuring and planning to ensure an orderly transition to the next stage, Definition and Delivery (Stage 4), subject to Government’s decision on the scope of next steps.

While transitioning to Stage 4, the objective is to maintain momentum on an existing work program, and to design and embed new program management arrangements. Therefore, prior to Government’s decision on the scope of next steps (and the resulting confirmation of organisational structure and formal recruitment processes of a permanent Infrastructure Program Director), a leader experienced in the program management and definition and delivery of mega-infrastructure projects is being procured.

For the duration of this contract, the Westport Program Office will be establishing the program management and governance arrangement for the next stage, recruiting an increased team to compliment the Stage 3 workforce, procuring major design, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and environmental programs, initiating work in key strategy and policy areas.
