Expression of Interest - commercial composting operation
Tender ID: 570485
Tender Details
Tender Description
The City of Port Lincoln invites stakeholders across a range of operating models to submit an expression of interest to participate in establishing a commercial composting operation for the lower Eyre Peninsula region. The purpose of this invitation is to identify the current market capabilities across a range of functions, including but not limited to:
- Receiving and processing;
- Haulage;
- Grinding;
- Composting;
- Site premises;
- Innovative processing service (e.g., technology or business solutions); and
- Others, as necessary.
A pilot program is currently underway to collect kerbside food and garden organic waste (FOGO), where establishment of a local composting facility would be a critical enabler of any future full-scale citywide rollout.
Enabling organic waste to be more appropriately managed will reduce our impact on the environment and improve kerbside services for residents.
This program is an initiative that aligns with both the Eyre Peninsula Waste & Resources Strategy, and City of Port Lincoln’s Sustainability and Waste Strategies through diversion of organic waste from landfill, reduction of carbon emissions, improvements to residential waste collection services, and supporting development of a local circular economy.
Expression of Interest documents can be obtained through Council's Procurement Officer, Tiharna Seiffert via email Tiharna.Seiffert@plcc.sa.gov.au
