Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is seeking a suitable contractor for Regulator Structure Replacement of PH993 & Upgrade of PH975.

1. Replacement of gates:

• Design capacity = 1100ML/d
• Number of bays = 4
• Types of gates = 2 x Flume Gates and 2 x Slip Gates *Note

2. Replacement of the concrete structure and rock beaching.

3. Installation of walkways, safety railings and fencing.

4. Installation of ancillary equipment such as solar power and storage system and control & communication systems etc.

5. Decommissioning and safe removal of obsolete assets due to the upgrade.

*Note: Gates, frames and ancillary equipment will be principal supplied and procured under a separate PO with Rubicon Water.

Jacobs have been engaged to undertake detailed design of the new structure, which takes into account the Rubicon gate design requirements and will be finalised in the first week of November 2024 in line with Tender release date.

ST008206 – PH975 Regulator Combine

PH975 is the Offtake Regulator for the Boort No.1 Channel located just upstream of the PH993 regulator, and is an AWMA undershot gate which utilises superseded, non-standard components in its control hardware, position instrumentation & drive assembly. Operations & Maintenance personnel have identified issues with reliability, performance & capacity constraints for several years.

There are currently no drive train components available to install in the instance of a major failure. The site design capacity is stated at 90ML/day.

The annual maintenance costs for the structure have increased significantly over recent years and are disproportionally high compared to average O&M costs for a single gate structure.

An assessment of the exiting concrete emplacement has been undertaken with results confirming that the structure is in good condition.

It is proposed to remove and dispose of the existing AWMA undershot gate and replace with a single Rubicon SlipGate with 12v power source and remote pedestal control.

A mandatory site visit for this tender will be provided as per details below:
