Tender Description

Port Augusta City Council invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of Installation of DDA Compliant Toilet and Kitchen Modifications, Hancock Stadium.

The Tenderer shall provide the Services in accordance with the Specification.

Hancock Stadium, constructed in the 1960s, served as the esteemed home of the Port Augusta Basketball Association until 2015, when the association relocated to the newly inaugurated Central Oval complex. In October 2019, ownership of Hancock Stadium was transferred to the Port Augusta Council from the Basketball Association. While the stadium remains operational, it underwent minor repairs and upgrades to enhance its facilities.

By mid-2023, the completion of these works included refurbishments to the grandstands, replacement of internal floating ceilings, renewal of the veranda soffit, and the installation of mechanical improvements such as four new air conditioning units and the servicing of three existing units. Additionally, mechanical louvres were installed at the rear of the stadium to improve ventilation.

Recognizing the ongoing need for amenities upgrades, recent assessments have identified further requirements, including the installation of new ambulant toilet to meet current building compliance standards. Designs for a kitchen upgrade, storeroom modification, and the ambulant toilet have been procured from Studio Nine Architects, and services designed by Trinamic Consultants. These enhancements are crucial as Port Augusta prepares to host the 2025 Masters Games, necessitating timely completion as per specified deadlines.

The Council will enter into an agreement with the successful tenderer.
